Coding isn't hard, maintaining code upgrade and bug fix large code bases that's as where most Devs work on. Tetris is easy. A developer often wasn't part of the design but has to work on it since the designer has left the company. Maybe 70% of the Devs work in such scenarios can an ai for example improve Blender make better code design, improve cycles render engine or so. Those are the complex tasks we Devs do on a daily basis.

I don't know what your analytics suggest, but effective or not, you have to agree that this whole culture needs to change- depending on how you look at it, this can be seen as either insulting (I shall think I'm not the only one who gets enraged by these) or downright abusive (i.e. "exploiting the predispositions of the human brain").

fascinating idea with the multi token prediction. especially since these tokens together usually form longer and more complex words or phrases. where german likes to merge words into one, english and french and many other languages actually want to keep them seperated, but they become a phrase together, sometimes even chaning the meaning of the used words. and if the inference speed is 3x faster together with higher accuracy, I'm all for it. but that's something I see in open source quite a lot. people got, when they were young, some old computer. that made them learn at a young age that there are always people who just don't have access to the newest and shiniest hardware, and you need to make the best out of what you have. linux itself is probably the best example out there. especially in contrast to windows, that gets more and more demanding, partially even with artificial restrictions. half a year ago, I upgraded my laptop to be able to run 70b models (64gb ram, 4tb ssd). llama2 and similar models were the maximum I could achieve. then mixtral was dropped. then other models were dropped. now llama 3. the performance I get now with the same hardware is so much better, and it seems as if it will still rise.

I am also on the robot's side & do not think they should be kicked / hit or harmed during training.

I can already see Eureka being applied to a virtual model of a factory environment and doing better than a human factory worker.

The Orange thing on the Frame glasses is actually a battery charger you can carry in your pocket. The things on the back aren't speakers either.. They are the internal batteries. It pairs with earbuds instead of having onboard speakers.

I think one of the biggest misunderstandings is that these models predict the next word, that first of all disregards the fact that tokens might be like: His| voice| filled| with| re|ver|ence| mom|en|tarily Understand how far those bits are from whole words and you start to understand how weird this actually is. This other thing is that "the next word" is usually thought of as the prediction based on the former one. It's a bad way of explaining it.

I wouldn't kick a robot on video too. When using the available data effectively there will be some point where the machine is reasoning on what is shown in a video and deduct conclusions. The context is pretty easy to misinterpret, knowing that the foot is softer than the robot shell and will not harm it, assumes general world knowledge. 20 years down the road you bring your toddler to playschool and you know that the robot teacher is trained on this data. Be kind to our future overlords.

All musicians create music based on what they heard before. Should they be held to the same rules as AI? Even having a guitar sound would be copyright infringing, or saying a word that another artist said. Ridiculous.

This whole idea about fomrulating an algorithm deciding what percentage is 'copyright' is ridiculous. It goes against everything human learning, the creative process or inspiration is all about. It basically means there can be no genre or style because there always are similarities between works. If this is how we go forward we can close all art schools and art education.

Creating mechanical bots with instinct. A dog knows what a dog should do the moment it’s born. I watched this and thought humans are born dumb, they have to learn the skills themselves - so you could say dumber than dogs and about to become dumber than AI bots. But this misses the point - humans are born dumb, but the trade off is free will. (I guess free to its birth culture to train for whatever they need to progress their society).

I can't wait for AI to make SHOCKING youtubers obsolete. AI that reads the news and checks video, rewrites SHOCKING klickbait bs tittles and presents everything as it is without twisting somethin for personal gain.

Perhaps next it will be government registration of compilers, and government-issued licenses to teach and study computer science.
